The largest industries in Ecuador are exports of petroleum, shrimp, bananas, gold, and other agricultural products. Other important industry are money transfers. In 2011, petroleum accounted about 56% of total export earnings and around 20% of GDP. Ecuador is the largest exporter of bananas in the world.
Ecuador adopted the dollar in year 2000 as its currency. After that the country has banking crisis and recession in year 1999. Dollar helped to reach stability and solid economic performance. In year 2011 it's economy stay strong with high oil prices.
