"Prepare milking equipment and bulk tank for milking.
Bring in cows for milking or help other employees bring in cows if needed or requested.
Follow recommended pre-milking preparation of cattle before milking.
Milk all cows in an orderly, proper and consistent manner.
Keep the milk from treated cows separated from the untreated herd. Understand the need for separation and the procedures used to keep to keep milk from treated cows out of the bulk tank.
Note cows that may have mastitis or other problems. Inform the manager for possible treatment. (No treatment will be done without permission of the supervisor.)
Clean the milking parlor, holding area and bulk tank room.
Operate all milking equipment as recommended by factory specifications and those protocols set forth by Vanderhyde Dairy, Inc.
After milking, be sure all machinery and sanitation procedures are followed according to manufacturer’s specification and Grade A Standards of the Public Milk Ordinance.
Help to get cattle in the barn, if necessary.
Maintain treatment records and identify treated cows with appropriate markers, such as leg bands, etc.
Clip udders, freeze brand and perform other procedures that promote accurate identification and animal well-being."
